Faculty Opening: Tenure-track Faculty Positions

KAIST Department of Bio and Brain Engineering

The Department of Bio and Brain Engineering at the Korea Advanced Institute of Science and Technology (KAIST) invites applications for tenure-track faculty positions. We are seeking talented individuals across various fields of bioengineering and brain engineering to join our vibrant academic community at the Daejeon campus

Position Details

  • Fields: Bio and Brain Engineering.

  • Employment Type: Full-time.

  • Classifications: Entry-level or experienced.

  • Workplace: KAIST Daejeon Campus.

Requirements

We are looking for candidates who demonstrate outstanding research achievements and significant potential for development in education and research.

  • Degree: Applicants must hold (or be expected to hold) a doctoral degree in their area of specialization.

    • Note: Candidates expecting a Ph.D. must pass their final thesis exam within 9 months of the application date and receive the degree before the appointment date.

  • Language: Must be capable of conducting lectures in English.

  • Expectations: Candidates are expected to contribute to multidisciplinary and collaborative research with industries.

 

Application Process & Timeline

The selection process involves four rounds: document screening, in-depth deliberations, academic seminars, and a final decision by the Faculty Deliberations Committee.

  • Application Period: February 2, 2026, to March 31, 2026.

  • Submission: Submit all materials via email to bioenghead@kaist.ac.kr.

Required Documents

  • Application Form: Provided form including a summary of key achievements, course syllabus, and research proposal.

  • Cover Letter: Less than 2 pages.

  • Curriculum Vitae (CV).

  • Representative Papers: A maximum of 3 published papers.

  • Letters of Recommendation: * 3 letters for Assistant/Associate Professor applications.

  • 6 letters for Full Professor/Tenure-track applications.

  • Note: Recommenders must send letters directly to the department email after the candidate passes the initial document screening.
